Do You have a computer problem or question ?

We receive allot of "My computer won't start, or my Internet doesn't work, what's wrong ?" type questions.
This type of question is next to impossible to answer. The question is just too vague, try to be more specific
and let Us know what basic troubleshooting you've done and the results.
For example;
"When I turned on my computer, nothing happened. Both the monitor and the CPU plug into a surge protector.
The light on the monitor came on, the light on the CPU didn't. I checked the CPU's power cord to make sure
it was plugged in correctly, then I tried a different outlet on the surge protector, still no change. What should I
do next ? Any suggestions ?"
OR
"My computer goes to the Windows splash screen but won't go any further. I've shut the computer off
waited, then tried restarting. Same thing happens. Any ideas ?"
Compare the examples to "My computer won't start, what's wrong ?". Two totally different problems, yet
in both cases the computer won't start, - "Start" being a matter of interpretation by the user -.
By being more specific, we have a better understanding of what is occurring with your computer, what the
problem may be, or what suggestions to offer.
